Starting from May 29th, 2018, new employee shall be entitled to 11 paid days off during the first year of employment and additional 15 paid days off on the 2nd year of employment.
By the new law update, Article 60(3) of The Korean Labor Standards Act has been deleted, and therefore it will no longer be possible to offset the first year leave days (11 days) from the leave days of the second year. In other words, employees shall be entitled for 26 days off during their first two years of employment.
For current employees, these new regulation shall be applied only for those who started to work from May 30th, 2017.
